Privacy Policy
Dahlke Solar is a small business (sole proprietor Jared Dahlke, Alabama, USA). This app exists to let you monitor and control the solar-powered dock system we installed for you. We collect as little as we can, and this page explains exactly what that is, in plain language.
What we collect
- Your email address — used as your account login and to identify which dock is yours. Your installer assigns your dock to this email.
- Your first name (optional) — only if you choose to provide it, so the app can greet you by name.
- Dock telemetry — battery charge, voltages, temperatures, appliance on/off states, schedules, and settings. This is data about your dock hardware, not about you or your phone. It's stored so the app can show you your dock's current and last-known state.
What we don't do: no ads, no analytics or tracking SDKs, no location collection, no contact-list access, and we never sell or share your data with anyone. That's the whole list of what we collect above — there is nothing else.
Why we collect it
One reason: to make the app work. Your email signs you in and links you to your dock. Telemetry is what the dashboard, battery details, schedules, and battery saver features display and act on. We don't use your data for marketing, profiling, or anything beyond running your dock.
Who processes it
Sign-in is handled by Firebase Authentication, a service run by Google. Firebase stores your email (and optional first name) on our behalf and acts strictly as a data processor — Google does not get to use your account data for its own purposes under the Firebase data processing terms. Dock telemetry travels between your dock, our servers, and your phone over encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connections.
Sharing dock access
If you share your dock with family or guests (up to 10 people), those people will see the dock's telemetry and controls, and they'll see that the dock is associated with your account. You can remove their access at any time in the app.
How long we keep it
We keep your account information for as long as you have an account. Dock telemetry is kept so the app can show history and last-known state; it's tied to the dock, and old telemetry is periodically pruned. When your account is deleted, your email and name are deleted with it.
Deleting your account and data
Email jared.dahlke@gmail.com from your account email and ask us to delete your account. We'll delete your account and personal data within 30 days and confirm by reply. (Note: if you delete your account, you'll lose app access to your dock until an installer re-assigns it.)
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect or how we use it, we'll update this page and change the effective date at the top. For meaningful changes we'll also let you know in the app or by email.
